Oklahoma City, formally known as the City of Oklahoma City and colloquially referred to as OKC, is the preeminent urban center and state capital of Oklahoma in the United States. It stands as the 20th most populous city in the country and the 8th largest in the Southern region, serving as the seat of Oklahoma County. The city's population has progressively increased since the 2010 census and has now ascended to 681,054 according to the 2020 census.

While the city's geographic expanse extends somewhat into Canadian, Cleveland, and Pottawatomie counties, those areas beyond the principal Oklahoma County region primarily consist of suburban districts or safeguarded rural tracts. Inclusive of consolidated city-counties, Oklahoma City ranks as the eighth-largest municipality in the United States by land area and second-largest, following Houston, if consolidated cities are not included.
